Your personal computer exists in three worlds:
- First there's the virtual world of networks, which includes the Internet.
The world of networks is
a
source of many evil things that make the world of computers
an insecure place.
- In the world of computers, that world of processors and
memory and hard drives, CD-ROMs and operating systems and software; the
viruses, worms and spyware found on the Internet can wreak havoc. Then there are
the internal wear-and-tear problems like disk fragmentation and erroneous
settings in Windows®.
Many things can go wrong in the world of computers.
- Then, there are the hazards associated
with our world. Our world is the world of spilled
coffee and dust and electrical surges. Our world contains all the things
that can physically damage your PC.
These worlds are all sources of stress for your personal
computer much like bumper-to-bumper traffic places stress on your vehicle. And
the solution is the same:
Preventative Maintenance.
Much like the preventative maintenance you provide for your truck or
automobile (changing oil, tune-ups, etc.), there is preventative maintenance
that should be performed regularly on your personal computer. As with your
vehicle, this maintenance will make your PC run faster, be more reliable, and
extend its usable life. In addition, regular backups of critical files reduce the
impact of lost data in the case of a catastrophic event such as a hard drive
crash.
At One Note Enterprises, we've discovered that many small businesses can't
afford a full-time personal computer support technician. We're not referring to
the friend who helps out with problems or the co-worker who seems to be able to
fix some of the things that go wrong. While these people are very helpful, they
only are looking at the surface of the problem. The people who can provide
resolution to your problems (rather than band-aids) are professional
personal computer support technicians.
As a result, PC problems are addressed reactively rather than proactively. Nothing is done until after the PC has developed serious, often critical,
problems. You wouldn't treat your vehicle that way, and there's no reason to
treat your personal computer that way.
One Note Enterprises is your small business' PC support solution. We will provide the
needed regular preventative maintenance on each of your computers. This includes a
backup CD-ROM containing your valuable data each time we perform maintenance.
- The first time, we come to your home or office, pick up the PCs to be
serviced and return them within 48-hours. Successive services will usually
be on-site.
- We check your PCs for these malicious files & remove them:
- Viruses
- Trojan Horses
- Worms
- Spyware
- We make sure you're PC is up-to-date:
- Windows® updates.
- Anti-Virus and other security updates.
- Drivers and other updates as required.
- We speed-up your system:
- Check your Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for errors.
- Remove unused files (to increase available disk space).
- Defragment your HDD (this reduces your access time making your PC
run more efficiently).
- Check your system setup to ensure that everything is operating
properly & fix any problems.
- We do some housekeeping to extend the life of your investment:
- Blow all the dust & other stuff out of your keyboard with compressed air.
- Clean out the inside of your mouse or trackball.
- Open & vacuum the inside of your desktop PC.
- We make sure nothing is loose while we're in there.
- Put the PC back together and reconnect all disconnected cables.
- We finish-up:
- Boot the PC and ensure that everything is operating properly.
- Check out & resolve any user issues. (Many of these are often found
to have been resolved by our maintenance.)
- Make recommendations regarding improvements to your PC's security or
performance.
- The Bottom Line:
- Our first Love Your PC maintenance call will cost $200.00
per PC.
- All successive Love Your PC maintenance calls will cost
$90.00 per PC.
- The Love Your PC maintenance program will also cost you some time away from your PC.
The average maintenance call will take one to two hours per PC (excluding
the initial service call). However, your
O.N.E. technician can often perform much of the
maintenance on multiple PCs simultaneously, which should reduce your overall
maintenance
downtime.
Your Benefits
- With properly maintained computers, you and your employees will be more
productive, and experience reduced equipment downtime.
- Regular backups ensure that only your most recent data would be lost as
a result of catastrophic failure of or irreparable damage to your PC.
- One Note Enterprises becomes the first call you make when something goes
wrong with anything we've worked on. Our technicians can often resolve the
problem over the phone. If not, we'll schedule a 'house' call to make it
right.
- Your One Note Enterprises technician becomes your on-call PC Support department for your
company's various data systems needs such as:
